Perforce to acquire infrastructure as code pioneer Puppet

Infrastructure automation computer software corporation Puppet has been obtained by Perforce for an undisclosed quantity. Perforce is responsible for a suite of preferred developer and devops equipment, most notably Helix.

Puppet’s 500 staff members, model, and software program suite will continue to operate as a standalone organization unit within Perforce for now. 

Founded in Portland, Oregon, in 2005, Puppet rose to fame in the early days of infrastructure as code, along with the likes of Chef, Ansible, and Salt. It has due to the fact pivoted into broader infrastructure automation and compliance equipment.

This acquisition signifies that all four of those people businesses have been acquired in the previous eight yrs, right after Red Hat bought Ansible in 2015, VMware obtained SaltStack in 2020, and Chef was ordered by Progress for $220 million in 2020.
